Reporters have stated "But Obama questioned her judgment on Friday, noting
her vote in 2002 to authorize the Iraq war and her failed stewardship of the
health care overhaul during Bill Clinton's administration."
Obama did not vote to enter Iraq....true enough. Yet most of both houses
voted for the authorization. However, that authorization was based on a
batch of cherry picked intelligence by GWB to fit HIS agenda. If I were in
Congress at
that time, based upon my President's honor as Commander in Chief I would
have
voted to enter Iraq. The fact that Obama did not only supports my view
Obama hit the lottery with this vote. No one really knew the entire facts
because they were cloudy both from our own intellegence agencies and our
Iraqui intellegence source in Iraq.
It is not enough for Obama to beat his drum at this time over the issue he
got 1 vote right regarding Iraq, but he neglects to offer his affirmations
on subsequent votes of support to engage in Iraq. Incidentally, Clinton
told the truth she did initially vote to invade Iraq, but as I said, I would
have voted to invade. *Would you* have voted to invade Iraq based on the
assessment of GWB and Powell, etc.? If you can answer yes based on their
assessment, Obama's issue that he did not vote for invasion is not revelant.
So....what is revelent? His past voting record is the key indicator of how
he would vote as President. I have reviewed his Congressional voting record
and he appears
to me to be much more CONserative than H. Clinton. In other words, Obama is
not molded in the staunch Democratic cast.
Obama's position on health care is more like George Bush's market based
approach which does not work and will not work. During the South Carolina
debate, Clinton pointed out Obama's approach to health care would allow
cherry picking of the most healthy individuals. *Obama* also admits his
plan
WOULD have the opportunity to cherry pick but he did not think this would be
the case and did not offer any reasoning why he thought cherrypicking would
not be a problem. I don't think he can hit the lottery twice!
Edwards also commented that Obama's health care plan would lead to
cherrypicking and everything I have written can be verified simpy by
reviewing the S.C debate via You Tube and checking Obama's voting record for
yourself..
The voting record Obama is questionable. He has a bad habit of
voting PRESENT on issues that should only be a up or down YES or NO, but on
those type issues we get his vote of PRESENT. This is not to say that other
members of Congress do not vote PRESENT but Obama seems to be one of the
most
guilty as far as I have determined thus far. He voted PRESENT for the
border fence. Well, what does that tell you about his attitude toward
immigration. There are simply too many *PRESENT* votes to lead me to
believe he should not be a Democratic candidate. How would you have voted
on the border fense issue? These are the acid questions for you and I as
democrats and republicans to answer.
Obama is desperately trying to get the old Southern deep South electorial
votes. But even if he does can he beat McCain? Absoutely no experience and
McCain will eat his lunch in this issue of the debate. McCain would and can
make economics a secondary issue and put the Facist Muslim Radical agenda to
the forefront and defeat Obama nationwide. Therefore, who is the best
candidate we can throw at the Republican party. In my opinion Obama comes
in second place. Clinton is my choice now and with Bill Clinton's two
terms. The Clinton's simply have
more experience in and need a Congress controlled by Democrat's to erase the
shame of GWB from
the conscience of the World.
Ok, one more piece of information Obama questions Hillary's success when
she tried to rescue the health care system when Bill Clinton was President
and this is so unfair. He is quoted "her failed stewardship of the health
care overhaul during Bill Clinton's administration".
She did take an active role in attempting to create a better health care
system but to blast her with the term failure is terribly procavative.
Regan himself (even if he had desired) would not have been able to alter
today's health care system if he did not have a majority to overide a veto.
Bill Clinton, with the power of the Republican Party in power in congress
did make the best of a bad situation in the overhaul of our welfare system
(he had no choice) but was bold enough not to vote PRESENT on that
legislation. Didn't the Republicans hold the power in Congress during Bill
Clinton's administration?
Let me give you some REAL figures. My monthly insurance cost for my wife
and myself is approximately $1300.00/month for Hospitalization, Major
Medical, Drugs, Dental, and Sight.
In Dec. 2008 my wife entered the Hospital and had an angioplasty performed.
Here is the billing and the approx. payments (I do not have the billing
before me but these values are within 2 percent of actual).
Hospital Insurance Out of Pocket
$44, 568 $2,400 0.0
Doctor's fee Insurance Out of pocket
$2,500 $240.00 0.00
$2,600 $230.00 0.00
These charges and insurance payments (and my monthly insurance payments)
tell us the hospitals and doctors are not pinching us....it's the Insurance
Industry that must be overhauled. Most people on pensions can not afford
health care insurance. Our domestic auto industry is waining because of the
high cost of insurance.
We must have a President who can and will stand up
to this giant industry that has been left uncontrolled and each year
fewer people drop their insurance coverage. Romney is touting his pleasure
with the Mass. overhaul he is so proud of but do you know they have to pay a
penalty for service if they do not get enrolled. I am not 100 percent
certain perhaps
someone from Mass. can offer their perspective regarding the State of Mass.
insurance program.
Finally....I do not think Obama can beat any Republican (and I like him),
but we need someone who can win, and we need to put Democrats into Congress.
The first 6 years of the Bush admin. has been devastating. Only by the 2006
elections reigning in the power of a one sided "my way or the highway"
dogmatic GWB with the absolute control of Congress the American people
finally understood we have been lied to, wealth conficated from the poorest,
and perhaps millions of dead people we pulled the plug and left GWB a little
less than ALL powerful. Please Google Downing Street Memo and read how the
British understood the cherrypicking of intelligence Bush wanted to use to
persuade Hillary (and others like you and me) to vote for invasion.
George Soros (a wealthy billionaire) recently said world debt exceeds $500
Trillion dollars.
So our 9 trillion is but a small portion of the total. What they never tell
you is that
one person's (country) debt is another person's *assets*. Wealth
redistribution as with the
Marshall Plan for the reconstruction of Japan and Europe is our hope and
Congress understands
this otherwise why do you think they now desire to *give* us $600 dollars.
This $600.00 is merely
a mini Marshal Plan. If the 1.3 Trillion tax cut engineered by Bush had
went to the botton tier, we would
never had the real-estate bust and Foreigners buying America at fireside
prices and those tax cuts
would have trickled UP to the Wal-Marts, Exon's etc. eventually. The exact
opposit has happened,
now we have $3.00 gasoline, *RECESSION* and ultimately STAGFLATION in sight.
If you are
at least 58 years old, you have already lived through this paragraph and
must do it again if we
do not make the right choice and redirect Congress to Democratic controll.
Thank you
